““Yet I have set My King On My holy hill of Zion.” “I will declare the decree: The Lord has said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I will give You The nations for Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for Your possession.”
Psalms 2:6-8 NKJV
I was reminded this morning that the Lord has declared He will give rulership of the regenerated Earth and its people to His Son, and we are called the inheritance of Christ! When I am tempted to live with a mentality of “how can God help me with MY life and what can He do for ME,” everything revolving around me, I am incorrectly seeing the relationship between the Lord and His creation. We are HIS, and are made for His good purpose.
I am the inheritance of Christ Jesus, a gift from the Father to His Son for all eternity, and the Son delights in His bride the Church, just as the Father delights to give His Son good things.
My life, now and for eternity, is for the glory and pleasure of God, and a side-benefit is that it is also the best life I could ever experience.
Primarily His glory, secondarily my good.
This morning I’m challenged by asking, am I living my earthly life with a focus on His glory, or my self?
